Additionally, we are big contributors to open-source development (https://github.com/micnews - with over 80 publicly available repos). This intern will report to one of Mic’s Product Engineers.
This is a paid full-time summer internship based in New York City. We expect interns to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the program (June 5, 2017 - August 11, 2017). Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.
Maintain legacy portions of the code base (ie transitioning into newer technologies, refactoring)
Assist in prototyping and A/B testing (ie features in beta)
Handle ad-hoc bug-fixing
Participate in development workflow including git and code review
Enrolled in an Engineering, Computer Science, Design or related program
Demonstrated ability to build at least one functional web application
Interest in building editorial, news, and media products
