Mic is building a world class sales team and is looking for an Executive Director to lead our in-house branded content studio, Vantage. The ED will help set the vision, oversee sales strategy and tell Mic’s story to the advertising community. The ED will provide oversight and leadership in operations and process to help foster a creative environment that honors Mic’s voice and audience, while also finding authentic alignment with client's goals.
Help develop and define the "Vantage" brand as a holistic thought leader in the industry for publisher-led creative for brands
Refine the positioning and communication about Mic to the advertising community
Concept innovative ways that brands can work with the Vantage team (from text, video, interactive, tech, etc.)
Attend key client/agency meetings to better understand needs and challenges for brands in digital advertising
Drive the creation of the best sales collateral, materials, and programs to excite the marketplace
Take ownership of systematically tracking feedback from the field and optimizing sales stories, programs, and materials to maximize success
Streamline processes and efficiencies across all Vantage verticals, better enabling the teams to develop and manage content-led client programs
Foster community and creative collaboration and knowledge sharing across the sales, pre-sale, and post-sale production teams
Oversee and help facilitate best practices in pre-sale from RFP submission review, pitching, selling and scope agreement.
Build and manage the Vantage department of 10+ Mic employees while maintaining quality of product and scalability
Demonstrated ability to understand Mic’s brand, mission and content at the deepest level
8-10+ years experience in digital advertising/marketing or creative entertainment as a creative director, account director, or brand strategist
Passion for connecting client needs with Mic’s vision
Strong vision for the future and potential of branded content
Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work across departments to influence and gather resources to support strategy and prioritize workload
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and manage expectations of all stakeholders
Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work as a team player while fostering a creative culture.
