The Role

The HR Business Partner supports each of our corporate functions at Mezzetta with a primary focus on Operations.  You will work strategically across a variety of organizational levels to provide Organizational Design (OD) consultation and support, manager and employee coaching & development, performance & talent management, workforce planning, training, retention, recognition, employee relations, and more. This role reports to Jason Senner, our SVP, People & Culture.  

Key Responsibilities and Activities 

  • Proactively partner with the SVP, People & Culture and Mezzetta leadership to design a workforce plan, support organizational design, identify talent gaps, promote our high-performance, fun culture, identify engagement opportunities, and help develop our people programs to effectively support the business strategy

  • Conduct organizational/issue assessments and develop sound, business-oriented solutions 

  • Lead structure design, process alignment and change management to optimize effectiveness 

  • Partner with other HRBPs and SVP, People & Culture, providing thought leadership, to develop and action a robust plan to cultivate the Mezzetta employer brand and overall employee engagement 

  • Provide day-to-day coaching and performance guidance to leaders to drive performance and at or above target results 

  • Ensure effective and efficient onboarding of talent 

  • Facilitate the planning and lead the execution for the Talent Management processes (e.g. Annual Performance Review, Talent Review, and Succession Planning & Development Planning) 

  • Partner with leaders and HR team members to ensure all labor, including temporary and contract, is planned in line with budget needs and supports the ability of the functions to carry out their objectives 

  • Ensure compliance with employment law and adherence to policies; lead the review and resolution for employee relations issues 

  • Research and work with external resources, as needed, to negotiate the delivery of learning and/or development programs to meet the organizational key needs of assigned functions 

  • In partnership with HR Operations & Administration, support the effective communication and understanding of Mezzetta benefit offerings and Open Enrollment processes 

  • Support the compliance to internal HRIS data management and data integrity 

Experience Required 

  • 7+years progressive HR experience with at least four (4) years responsible for HR support to one or more key functional areas within an organization 

  • Demonstrated experience to think strategically and translate agreed to strategic plans into efficient processes, systems and/or project & initiatives 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives, manage competing priorities while delivering quality and timely results 

  • Able to be viewed as a “thought leader” – contributing as a “business partner” on issues of both HR as well as business structure/process 

  • Strong presentation / facilitation skills with experience in presenting ideas and influencing at a senior level in the organization 

  • Effective at delivering/facilitating training programs 

  • Strong analytics, attention to detail and business/financial acumen 

  • Strong knowledge of CA and US Federal labor/employment laws 

  • Demonstrated ability and proven experience in facilitating complex employee relations issues; investigations, performance improvement, disciplinary action management etc. 

  • Working ability in the Microsoft Office Suite applications to include strong level of Excel skills sufficient to conduct analysis, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) management, etc. 

  • Familiarity with HRIS programs (ADP Workforce Now) 

  • Familiarity with a variety of HR support software (training, performance management, applicant tracking, etc.). Mezzetta uses 15Five, Greenhouse and Culture Amp among our suite of applications 

Education / Professional Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience 

  • PHR or SPHR a plus 

  • Other HR specific or general business seminars/training/certifications a plus 

  • Reporting/scorecard development a plus 

 

Pay Range
$130,000$140,000 USD
