The Role 

Metropolis is seeking a Manager of Sales Engineering to provide technical expertise and support to the sales organization. You will collaborate with sales and deployment leaders to provide technical expertise in sales conversations, drive revenue growth, develop customer relationships, and win new business opportunities. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Sales Engineering The ideal candidate will serve as a Metropolis technology expert, highlighting capabilities in discuss externally, gather customer insights to inform product roadmap decisions, and bridge communication between sales, deployment, and product teams. 

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop sales strategies, identify target accounts, and prioritize sales opportunities. 
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team throughout the sales cycle, including product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution architecture design. 
  • Engage with customers to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and business objectives, and develop tailored solutions to meet their needs. 
  • Partner with product management and engineering teams to gather customer feedback, identify product enhancements, and drive product roadmap priorities. 
  • Conduct technical assessments and evaluations of customer environments to ensure compatibility and feasibility of proposed solutions. 
  • Create and deliver technical proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and statements of work (SOWs) in collaboration with the sales team. 
  • Develop and maintain technical sales collateral, including presentations, whitepapers, case studies, and demo environments. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings, and provide insights and recommendations to sales leadership. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop technical content and materials for sales enablement, including webinars, blog posts, and thought leadership pieces. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to drive alignment and support sales efforts.
  • Provide technical training and enablement programs for the sales team to enhance their technical knowledge and selling skills. 
  • Participate in sales meetings, customer meetings, and industry events to represent the technical capabilities and value proposition of the company's solutions. 
  • Track and report on sales engineering activities, pipeline development, and customer engagements to sales leadership. 

Qualifications 

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; Master's degree is a plus. 
    • Proven 5+ yearsexperience in sales engineering, pre-sales engineering, or technical sales support roles, preferably in a technology or software company. 
    • Strong technical background with expertise in relevant technologies, platforms, and solutions (e.g., cloud computing, software applications, networking). 
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively. 
    • Demonstrated experience in managing customer relationships, understanding customer needs, and developing tailored technical solutions. 
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address technical challenges and meet customer requirements. 
    • Proficiency in sales tools and technologies, including CRM systems, collaboration platforms, and technical demonstration tools. 
    • Ability gains extensive expertise in Metropolis technology and excel in demonstrating its capabilities. 
    • Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus. 

 

The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000.00 to $160,000.00 annually. The actual base pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base pay is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.
