About the role

Our product managers set the vision for our growing family of products. Every day we solve incredibly hard problems to create surprising and delightful experiences for our customers and policyholders. We’re responsible for guiding multidisciplinary teams toward a common goal: shipping high quality products and features on time.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will own the vision, roadmap for one or more Telematics squads at Metromile. You’ll bring to life new use cases for the Metromile Pay-Per-Mile insurance product, and envision how Metromile incorporates all telematics sensor sources, such as OBD-II, mobile and OEM data.

You Will

  • Craft a bold product vision, strategy and roadmap for new device features, fulfillment and telematic data
  • You will work closely with engineering, product managers, data scientists, designers, actuaries, legal and customer service to iterate and improve existing telematics-based workflows
  • Drive new product development through the design, development, and testing phases
  • Inspire and drive work across many cross-functional teams in Metromile
  • Process, review, and interpret large bodies of qualitative and quantitative data on customer usage patterns to uncover new product insights
  • Balance diverse perspectives and empower teams to do impactful work

About You:

  • 5+ years professional work experience
  • 3+ years technical product management experience
  • Experience shipping B2B or B2C telematics-based products 
  • Strong familiarity OBD-II and mobile sensor data
  • Strong vision on the future of mobility
  • Love working with data, you possess a proven ability to quantitatively analyze product concepts, strategic opportunities, and competitive threats based on data
  • Very strong execution skills able to take ambiguous problems and translate them into clear, achievable objectives
  • Deep understanding of and empathy for users
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (design, engineering, data science, business development, marketing)
  • Self-motivated, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BA / BS or equivalent experience
