Business Development Directors at Method apply consultative selling approaches to help customers identify the problems and opportunities worth addressing, and build with them the right approaches that specifically address the unique challenges of each individual client. You will be responsible for the identification, qualification, and pursuit of new sales opportunities within the Industrial sector, with a focus on North American clients. This role requires you to develop relationships not only with prospects and clients but also with Method’s strategic partners (Hitachi and GlobalLogic), helping define Method’s go-to-market strategy within our partnership portfolio and driving new business opportunities.  

Successful Business Development Directors possess a unique blend of problem-solving skills, business acumen, big-picture vision, and drive to deliver results. You must be comfortable working through ambiguity to help bring order and vision to client challenges, translating strategies into sales material, and partnering with colleagues to shape proposals, approaches, and SOWs.

Qualifications:

  • Be accustomed to achieving and surpassing a quota, with a proven history of goal achievement
  • 8+ years experience developing new business through prospecting, specifically within the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated experience in selling bespoke digital solutions & services (management consulting, advisory, or professional services)
  • Provide/serve as industry SME, demonstrated experience translating sector requirements into project briefs and sales strategies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Communication and expectation management are the linchpins of successful product development, and it starts in the sales process.  
  • Strong qualification skills and refined ability to differentiate between motivated and non-motivated buyers
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to pursue business develop opportunities 
  • Willingness to work as part of a global team
  • Candidates must be based in the US with a strong preference towards the New York City market

Responsibilities:

  • Generate defined prospect lists/lead sources and pursue contact within those prospect accounts
  • Lead strategic planning for multiple Financial Services client accounts at a time, including developing Method’s go-to-market strategy for each
  • Analyze customer needs, including current business obstacles, and identify opportunities and scope potential service offerings
  • Identify, target, and engage viable sales opportunities 
  • Develop sales pitches and accompanying materials (pitch decks)
  • Drive requirements gathering for proposals, partner with Method SMEs and strategic channel partners on new business development activities
  • Work with prospects leading them through the sales cycle to closure
  • Develop, manage, and report on the sales pipeline within the market to achieve targets
  • Accurately maintain and update the customer database/forecasting and account notes in the sales tracking system (Salesforce) 
  • Proactively maintain ongoing knowledge of industry, customers, target accounts & competitive landscape

This salary range is specific to New York City residents only, and provided as a general, good faith estimate. The amount offered may be higher or lower.
