Sales Engineer Job Description

About the role

We have ambitious growth goals this year as we deploy Meter’s infrastructure across tens of millions of square feet. To drive this growth, we are hiring our first Sales Engineer to support the Sales team, enabling us to execute on successful sales goals and exceed revenue targets. The ideal candidate is accustomed to solving our prospects’ and customers’ most complex problems and has experience partnering closely with Sales, Channel Partners, Product and Marketing to close large deals. This is a unique opportunity to join Meter’s sales team early as we embark on the most ambitious phase of growth for the business.

You will have an impact by

  • Working with customers and partners, selling the value of Meter’s vertically integrated Network-as-a-Service product offerings
  • Leveraging well honed presentation skills to illustrate Meter’s technology to a variety of key stakeholders, including executives and technical decision makers 
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and how to position Meter in critical negotiations 
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Marketing, Product Management and Partnerships to continuously iterate and refine Meter’s products and marketing

 

You might be a good fit if you have

  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering or technical support working with customers in pre- or post-sales support
  • Troubleshooting skills and experience supporting a networking product
  • A thorough understanding of designing, building and deploying networking
  • Ability to solve customer specific business problems and apply Meter’s solutions
  • Experience navigating complex issues in high pressure situations
  • The ability to effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders, including technical and executive audiences

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • $134,500- $157,500 salary 
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to earn commissions and to participate in Meter’s equity plan.

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience.
