About the role

Meter’s mission is to make businesses more productive and secure through providing best-in-class internet infrastructure. We continue to attract best in class talent across all functions and benefit from the support of fantastic institutional (Sequoia) and individual (founders of Meraki, Shopify and Stripe) investors. As we scale, the financial systems that underlie our activities need to enable us to efficiently manage our growth.

As Meter’s first Accounting hire, you’ll be expected to design and create the tools, processes and culture of our financial operations. You will report directly to Meter’s Head of Finance, working closely with Meter’s founders and other leaders across Sales & Partnerships, Customer Experience, and People Operations.

You will have an impact by

  • Building accounting infrastructure (ERP, Q2C) from the ground up for a business operating across multiple pieces of the value chain
  • Collaborating with cross functional partners to create efficient processes that best enable them to support our stakeholders (customers, vendors, employees, capital partners)
  • Providing insights into business performance that allow Meter to deploy resources with against the highest ROI activities
  • Being the first accounting hire to Meter, helping to set the foundation for Meter and the team’s future growth

  • Believe accounting systems are critical enablers of success for high growth companies 
  • Enjoy and are skilled at owning all parts of accounting from the tactical elements (e.g., billing, inventory, payroll) to the strategic elements (e.g., building an efficient Q2C process)
  • Excel at explaining financial reports through the operational drivers of the business
  • Know how to bring teams together and get the most out of a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Are an excellent communicator (the ability to write well is especially important at Meter)
  • Can effectively navigate and have an outsized impact in highly ambiguous and fast-changing environments
