We are open to candidates +/- 4hrs PT.

At MetaLab, our people are the secret sauce. And our Talent Acquisition team plays a key role in creating the recipe. As the Director of Talent Acquisition at MetaLab, you’ll be responsible for driving, leading, and supporting the recruitment team to successful outcomes. You’ll work closely with MetaLab’s senior leadership and Operations team (Business, Strategy, People, & Marketing) to ensure the company’s goals are being achieved through near- and long-term hiring strategies.

As Director of Talent Acquisition you’re a player coach who, understanding your role as mission critical to the business, does what needs to be done to ensure your team reaches objectives, including rolling up your sleeves on more complex searches. You have experience scaling companies and are able to identify what resources you need in order to meet the hiring targets ahead of you. We are a fully remote, truly global company. You have a successful history of recruiting hard-to-get talent in Design and Engineering, and your network reaches further than obvious tech hubs, like the Bay area. And most importantly, even in this hot market you’re excited about growing the MetaLab team and all the possibilities that exist for a company like our’s.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the overall Talent Acquisition strategy at MetaLab, focused on meeting our business objectives, attracting top talent, and inclusivity. You are responsible for meeting/exceeding the company’s hiring targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow our 5+ person team of in-house, end-to-end recruiters. You’ll provide them with direction, guidance, and goal definition to help set them up for success on an ongoing basis. Beyond this, you’ll bring a strong perspective on how to scale the team to meet our quality and hiring targets.
  • Drive excellence in the recruitment function, partnering with functional leaders to develop creative strategies to attract and screen talent for their teams.
  • Own MetaLab’s employer brand and work with the Marketing team and department heads to ensure we’re amplifying it effectively for the talent market.
  • Work closely with the Business Operations team to stay aligned on adapting resourcing needs for optimum team size and structure.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to ensure our employee experience strategies are aligned with the hiring market.
  • Ensure hiring strategies are continuously aligned with diversity, equity and inclusion best practices.
  • Skillfully balance the quick moving pace and urgency of agency with our high bar for quality and no assholes.
  • Roll up your sleeves, providing guidance on searches when needed and drive some of our most senior or complex hiring pipelines

The must-have shortlist:

  • 5+ years in a head of recruitment or equivalent role. You’ve previously led the recruitment function at a growing tech company of 150+ employees. Ideally at a company that is in hyper-growth mode.
  • You have a strong point of view that translates into actionable strategy on how to recruit in an ever-changing talent market
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching. You’ve directly managed a team of high performing recruiters.
  • Track record of continuously systematically evaluating and improving the end-to-end process of recruiting: 1) Find/Attract more qualified candidates 2) Improve conversion 3) Reduce time to hire
  • Skilled technical recruiter. You have a track record of hiring and assessing top talent across all levels and functions, particularly in design and engineering, and have an eye for assessing their portfolios and capabilities.
  • As a leader on MetaLab’s People Operations team, you care deeply about your colleagues as humans first, are energized by bringing new friends onboard with a world class hiring and onboarding experience, and embody the inclusive and collaborative culture we strive for.
  • You’re highly organized and can manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • You’re an experienced talent marketer and have demonstrated the ability to own the employee brand and improve the way we articulate ourselves across channels (website, social, job descriptions). You’re active in the tech and design community, and can  represent MetaLab and attract new talent.
  • Bonus points if you have experience hiring globally.
