The PR Manager will work on driving the consumer PR narrative for MERIT, working closely with our PR agency to secure sales-driving + culture-defining press for the brand. The role will focus on day-to-day management for MERIT’s global PR program, and assist with brand activations + VIP seeding efforts.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the strategy and execution of public relations programs across the US, UK, Canada and all new geographies
Closely collaborate with PR agencies on launch communication plans and ongoing pitching; Manage ongoing program trackers and internal metrics reporting
Manage product seeding process; execute large-scale product pushes tied to major launch moments that lead to brand media coverage, VIP relationship building, and social media shares
Stay abreast of the industry landscape and identify opportunities around topical media narratives
Identify brand-aligned businesses and individuals for potential collaboration
Refine outreach process for brand partnership opportunities and assist with collaborations
Assist with operations and logistics management for brand activations such as events, Fashion Week sponsorships, etc.
Work collaboratively with external and internal partners on cross-functional projects
Requirements:
3+ years of communications experience; in-house and agency beauty industry experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of media and communications landscape, with a deep understanding of the evolving industry
Experience leading successful product seeding + gifting programs
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an innate ability to build constructive relationships internally and externally with key partners
A record of operating with good judgment and leveraging creative problem-solving skills
Strong project management and prioritization skills
High attention to detail
The ability to action on constructive, creative critiques
The ability to work in teams and autonomously, providing self-direction when needed
The ability to be agile and thrive in a dynamic, fast moving environment
We are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package in addition to salary compensation. The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 in addition to bonus potential, stock options, a 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off and more. The final salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the individual's experience and qualifications.
