The role

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for tech, delivery, strategy, and people.

In this role you will ensure the team delivers exceptional results, balancing tech, product and delivery. You'll be pivotal in guiding sound decision-making and fostering a productive environment. You will be part of the Product Department which is responsible for developing our product to best fulfill the needs of our users. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a strong voice for tech in the team and advocate for good practices aligned with our tech strategy. 
  • Be the line manager of engineers in the team, oversee their well-being and professional development, and actively coach and inspire them to reach their full potential.
  • Foster great collaboration in the team through leading, planning and facilitation.
  • Engage in strategic decision-making, collaborating across departments and teams to amplify the impact of the product.

Skills and Requirements: 

As you will be managing software engineers, you must have hands-on experience in technical discussions and environments that allows you to comfortably facilitate architectural and  sound technical decisions.

You are accountable for delivery in the team and to efficiently do that we expect you to have a mindset of constantly pushing boundaries, both engineering and process wise. You also have experience of guiding teams through planning and delivery of modern features. 

As a line manager for software engineers, you need to enjoy coaching and mentoring people to growing and also be comfortable having difficult conversations. As you also are responsible for the staffing of the team, you should be able to have the understanding of the requirements to execute on your long term plan. 

Mentimeter is a fast-moving product-led growth company. Therefore you must desire to work in a fast-paced environment where change a constant. 

So, who are you?

  • 3+ years of experience as a team lead or managing engineers  in a cross-functional agile team
  • Several years of work in technical environments, where you were responsible to ask (or answer) technical questions and reason about them.  You might have had roles like software or quality engineer, technical PM/PO, etc. 
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills, fostering unity and inspiring teams.
  • Eagerness to contribute to a fast-growing organization and adaptability to different contexts.
