Hi, my name is Syeda Fatima, and I’m the new Manager of Corporate Accounting at Mejuri. In my role, I am responsible for leading the corporate accounting and controls function, and ensuring that our financial statements are grounded in accurate financial information in a robust control environment. I recently joined Mejuri in December 2023, and am excited to help scale a growing organization and be a part of a highly motivated finance team.

The role: (Job Overview)
As the Corporate Accountant, you will be responsible for creating dynamic working files to support the compilation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting you will work alongside the accounting, FP&A, eCommerce/Retail, and marketing/creative operations teams to improve accuracy, reduce close timeline and create efficiencies in processes.This role also involves significant cross-department work and communication. It is for someone who is passionate about solving problems and is motivated by a fast paced environment.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting process
- Prepare supporting files for accounting transactions, and demonstrate strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE, US GAAP)
- Contribute to a top tier team that proactively drives continuous improvement and works with a collaborative mentality
- Assistance with initiatives that contribute to the objective of building out the accounting team technology stack, specifically ERP, revenue and payroll systems, and future implementations
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Retail, FP&A, and Data/Technology business unit leaders in the month end marketing expense review process
- Assist with external review/audit process as necessary
- Preparation of working files supporting corporate operating expenses including transactions related to G&A, legal, corporate loans, intercompany, and other accruals
- Ensure a strong controls environment and fiscal integrity of the company’s business through the enhancement and management of accounting systems and controls
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed
What you bring to the team: (Qualifications)
- 2+ years of progressive experience in full cycle and/or public accounting
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and finance software
- An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Proven track record of managing several priorities
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field

- Experience with NetSuite
- Experience in Big 4, eCommerce, retail, manufacturing or consumer packaged goods industries
- Possess or working toward accounting designation
