Senior Event Planner

Media Star Promotions, a leading Baltimore-based experiential marketing company with Fortune 500 clients and offices throughout the U.S. is seeking a Senior Event Planner to lead event production for our association, corporate and non-profit clients. This is a great opportunity for an event planner with creative agency experience to continue developing their client, project and event management skills, while working with a diverse array of clients.

 

You will lead clients from event ideation through site selection, vendor negotiations and décor concepting, all the way through taking an active role on event day. To be successful, you will collaborate with cross-functional team of event planners, designers, event technicians, IT staff and our warehouse teams. Your skilled balance of creativity with logistics will bring our clients’ vision to life with the flawless execution they expect from MSP.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning and execution of events ranging in size from a private cultivation dinner to an association annual meeting and everything in between. In-person, hybrid and virtual.
  • Communicate with clients and vendors in a detailed, professional manner
  • Use your strong design eye to create a vision for the event décor, thinking on your feet to see and communicate the possibilities of an empty space
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects, develop budgets, negotiate contracts, create production schedules, staffing plans, budget management and reconciliation
  • Mentor a project manager
  • Create layout diagrams and work with our Creative Team to develop 2D and 3D renderings
  • Maintain detailed show books for each event
  • Lead pre-production meetings to ensure all team members are prepared to deliver a perfect event
  • Strong event day management leading all teams to stay on deadline with excellent vendor communication
  • Work with warehouse team for equipment rentals and sales
  • Willing to support the larger agency team as business needs warrant

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • MS Office- especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Skilled writer with a keen attention to detail and ideally experience developing proposals and program recaps
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related discipline
  • Candidates must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an agency, corporate or non-profit event planning role

 

 

This is a 100% in-person position. Regular office hours are Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm.

A pre-hire background check and drug screening are required.
