Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Analyst to join our Analytics Team. This role will report directly to our VP of Business Analytics and support multiple business units by delivering top-tier analytical insights aligned with our strategic goals. As an individual contributor, you will drive the development and implementation of analytical components within our technology platform. You will collaborate closely with our engineering team to design and integrate sophisticated algorithms and features and streamline reporting for key performance indicators (KPIs) critical to our strategic initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical expertise to cross-functional projects, addressing new challenges and uncovering opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor across business units to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Master the MediaAlpha platform’s tools and data to deliver actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance our platform’s analytical capabilities.
  • Offer consultative and strategic guidance to internal teams and clients.
  • Develop templates, tools, and dashboards to boost team efficiency and analysis effectiveness.

 

Requirements

  • 6+ years of work experience in a Data Analyst/Scientist or related role
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects and working with tech/engineering teams
  • Demonstrated success deploying impactful code (e.g., predictive models, date pipelines, dashboards, automated reports) to production environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Expertise in applying statistical techniques to real-world business problems (e.g. designing tests/experiments and evaluating results)
  • Experience in creating executive-level presentations
  • Proven track record of training and mentoring analysts
  • Advanced in Python/R and SQL
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to synthesize large and disparate data sets
  • Capacity to think critically and creatively, uncover problems, and propose solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who takes initiative on all projects and strives to build and improve upon existing processes
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, business, finance, math, engineering, statistics) or equivalent experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with search, display, performance, and/or direct marketing
  • Experience with Airflow
  • Experience with R Shiny and Shiny Server
  • Experience with Perl

 

Compensation & Benefits
