THE ROLE

In this role, you will collaborate with other Developers, Product Managers, and technology leaders to help deliver new systems and product enhancements for our members. You will also help support, maintain and improve the quality of our existing systems. You will help to champion The MLC’s unique culture in all aspects of your work; allowing time to align on directions, proceeding with autonomy and taking accountability for your work.

QUALIFICATIONS​

  • At least two years of related knowledge and experience
  • At least five years of experience testing experience within appropriate frameworks (Cucumber, Fitnesse, etc.)
  • Experience using RESTful API XML/JSON, mocking of 3rd party services
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with high volumes of data
  • Strong experience in full-cycle delivery
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Able to show success by defining roadmaps out of ambiguous and varying interests
  • Hands-on knowledge of version control systems and TDD/BDD

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES​

YOU WILL SUPPORT DELIVERY OF NEW SYSTEMS AND PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS BY:

  • Contributing to the planning and requirements analysis to execute on delivery frameworks
  • Applying proven experience of automation solutions that can be maintained, supported, and extended
  • Creating extendable solutions that are used beyond their original needs
  • Providing input into the efficiency & scalability of testing strategy
  • Writing seven-layer based solutions
  • Rapidly understanding and questioning requirements to formulate test solutions
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of web technologies and advanced browser features

YOU WILL SUPPORT CONSISTENT TESTING AND TROUBLESHOOTING BY:​

  • Applying a strategic approach to testing solutions
  • Communicating the testing process and strategy to members on the team
  • Contributing to sprints within an Agile development environment; taking accountability for pushing progress
  • Demonstrating knowledge of compatibility testing and advanced browser features
  • Demonstrating knowledge and use of common web debugging / monitoring tools (Firebug, Httpfox, Fiddler, DataDog)
  • Generating reports and create dashboards for quality monitoring
