Maven is looking for an experienced Director, Partnerships & Business Development to expand our partnership ecosystem in order to enhance our product offerings and drive impact for a greater number of women and families. You have experience in a business development role, knowledge of the health benefits ecosystem, and existing relationships with benefits brokers and consultants. You will be able to independently manage key external relationships, partner with our Marketing function to ensure that we are delivering relevant and impactful content for your audience, and drive high potential leads to our Sales Directors. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, extremely well-organized and passionate about our mission.

As Director, Partnerships & Business Development at Maven, you will:

  • Own the strategy for working with benefits brokers and consultants, ecosystem aggregators, and other relevant industry groups to unlock sales opportunities in the employer benefits space
  • Prioritize and own critical relationships across the employer benefits industry, including the national-level relationships with key partners
  • Partner with our marketing function to develop and deliver impactful content for your audiences
  • Keep Maven top of mind for influential stakeholders in the employer benefits space
  • Coordinate response to RFIs and ensure partners are widely versed in Maven’s offering 
  • Collect productive feedback to help drive our product development roadmap
  • Drive high potential leads to our Sales Directors
  • Analyze Maven’s sales pipeline to drive new strategies with the entire ecosystem
  • Participate in product pitches as needed
  • Pitch in where needed as we rapidly scale our business

We’re looking for you to bring:   

  • 5+ years experience in sales or account management roles, preferably owning a book of business in a quota-driven role
  • Direct experience working for or with employer benefits consultants/brokers
  • Prior experience building and cultivating a pipeline in a business development role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong focus on delivering results in an environment with limited day-to-day oversight
  • A great team-player attitude

Helpful experiences and skills (if you don’t have them, you can learn them with us!): 

  • Subject matter expertise in women’s and family health benefits
  • Subject matter expertise in employee health benefits (e.g., HDHPs, HSAs, EAPs, etc.)
  • Prior experience working in a high-growth start-up environment
