Maven is looking for an exceptional, experienced professional to lead our Strategic Market Sales Team. In this role, you will be leading our most experienced sales team members, and working with complex large employers. Your team will spearhead our growth by creating market demand, developing prospect and buyer level strategies, and architecting deals and contract terms that will be credible and exciting to prospects, will increase revenue and will position Maven to scale. We are looking for someone who is top 20% in their field, with an insatiable appetite for success. Our business is fast-paced and we are defining a category, so you will need to excel in the ability to evangelize Maven’s voice with passion and credibility - across your team, prospects, consultants and the market.  

As Vice President, Sales for the Strategic Market at Maven, you will: 

  • Collaboratively grow Maven’s relationships with large employers, often global in scope
  • Bring exceptional leadership to our most experienced sales team members
  • Effectively identify and solve for all barriers to Maven’s success; demonstrate excellent time management and use of accessible resources
  • Act with urgency, even when making difficult decisions 
  • Be the voice of our buyers and the market within Maven; collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure our continued position as category creator
  • Use creativity and relentless persistence to expand Maven’s reach across regions and industry verticals
  • Use data effectively to forecast, align resources and build market strategy
  • Act with credibility and humility, always positioning Maven for success 
  • Be a thought and motivational leader across the Maven team

We’re looking for you to bring: 

  • 3+ years of experience in a sales leadership role
  • 7+ years selling to HR buyers, with no less than 3 of those years of working with HR buyers of companies with 20K employees or more
  • Exceptional sales performance history (revenue achievement, forecasting, etc) that can be confirmed through documentation and references who will validate record of success and leadership skills 
  • Growth mindset that thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Demonstrated comfort with data; ability to interpret and discuss analytics with ease in conversations with individuals of varying levels of understanding
  • Proven network within the HR/employee benefits community 
  • Insatiable appetite for success
