As an Electro-Mechanical Technician (UAS) at Matternet, your work will directly help bring our assets to life and make access to goods as frictionless and universal as access to information.
You will report to our experienced Production Manager, joining a small & dynamic team assembling and maintaining a range of custom and off-the-shelf unmanned aircraft systems and support equipment.
You will be successful if you enjoy showing off your craftsmanship and have a passion through all stages of product assembly and iteration.
Operate under ERP software for inventory control and part traceability (SAP ByDesign)
Produce technical documentation related to workflows, assembly processes, rework modifications, and maintenance procedures
Evaluate and improve electromechanical system deficiencies
Perform soldering operations (through-hole and SMT)
Perform wire harness fabrication and routing
Experience following complex instructions, schematics, and SOPs
3+ years of experience building aerospace-grade products with strict adherence to process and quality control
Experience working on small airframe structures, electronics, MEMS sensors, antennas, and other related components
Experience building high-voltage EV battery packs safely
Experience fabricating components out of plastics, composites, and metals
Experience supporting multiple teams and concurrent deadlines
UAS-specific assembly and maintenance experience
Comfortable working from rough sketches and early concept schematics to final detailed drawings and designs.
Solid understanding of modern battery technology and how it relates to UAS
Understand autopilots, companion computers, and dynamic electromechanical system behavior
Experience with UAS/RC craftsmanship
