Matternet is seeking an electrical design engineer for evolving new designs and unlocking future capabilities for the Matternet drone delivery system. You will take on the unique challenge of trying to combine the need to optimize power, weight, and cost with the expectations of aerospace-grade safety and reliability.
Design PCB layouts and schematics of complex avionics boards.
Prototype integration design of propulsion systems (motors and electronic speed controllers), sensors, actuators, and Li-ion battery systems.
Provide sustaining engineering support to existing UAV platform - M2 Matternet drone. This will include troubleshooting problems in the manufacture, testing or operation of the existing M2 drone as well as the addition of new features and upgrades.
Be a hands-on development engineer for design, prototype validation & test and be skilled in using tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, LCR meters
3+ year of proven industry experience, or equivalent education/internship experience.
Ability to design and analyze circuits, documenting the design with reviews and simulations/calculations.
A solid foundation in analog and digital circuitry and schematic design using microcontrollers, single board computers, FPGA, switching regulators, MOSFETs and electromagnetic devices like actuators, motors & ESCs.
Knowledge of :
multilayer PCBs and designing real-time applications with high-speed processors design for EMI/RFI and signal/power integrity
battery chargers/balancers and DC power electronics.
Familiarity with I2C, UART, CAN, USB, SPI or other high-speed serial links.
Experience in Altium for design and version control of schematics and board design/manufacturing.
Experience with programming languages C++, Python or Firmware and embedded code.
Experience in the aviation, robotics, automotive or medical device/equipment industries.
