About this role:

The Designer will serve as a strategic and conceptual design lead on all brand creative design elements within the brand department for MATTE. Working cross functionally, you will take ownership of developing design – from ideation to execution. You should be results driven and agile enough to look at performance/analytics and adjust. This role will report to the Senior Brand Manager and will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

General Brand Design 

  • Maintain responsibility of and create resources for the MATTE Brand Identity; including logo lockups, vector files, typographic systems, and all virtual asset use cases across the brand 
  • Ensure continuity of Brand Identity principles and quality control standards across all internal and external-facing uses of the brand visual system 
  • Liaison with client teams and digital team to create compelling case studies for the MATTE website following the MATTE website best practices and template systems; collaborating with clients and marketing teams to ensure that designs accurately reflect the brand’s desired image and messaging

Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager 

  • All social assets including Instagram, LinkedIn 
  • Make revisions to designs and lockups based on high-level direction from Brand and sometimes digital. Keep track of all concurrent design projects in a clear, organized manner. Manage simultaneous design projects with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ensure that all designs are produced to the highest standards of quality and accuracy
  • Owner and designer for all brand output; including all social media, newsletter design, internal pitch decks (when applicable to brand), site editorial covers / entry collages
  • Work with the Senior Brand Manager on MATTE original content pieces; managing all image and graphic asset files while collaboratively executing on custom design work that aligns with each piece 

Additional Responsibilities (Communicated through Direct Report, briefed by Director of Events) 

  • Event Poster Design updates 
  • Promotional / Partnerships deck creation 
  • Newsletter Blasts, Hubspot

What you will bring:

  • Minimum BA in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or equivalent 
  • Highly-qualified educational and professional background in graphic design including photoshop, illustrator, indesign, aftereffects, final cut, keynote, and g suite
  • Should have a strong editorial eye and keen eye for detail
  • Strong background experience in presentation design, typographic layouts, image manipulation / post-production, short-form sizzle edits 
  • Brand Designer should have interest in fashion, culture and music—MATTE is looking for a creative collaborator to conceptualize and finesse unique, consistent, and pixel-perfect templates and new designs for social media
  • Must be able to work with agility in a fast-paced environment; there are times where social posts will need to be released quickly and to the same high-caliber of excellence as the rest of the content 
  • Must have the background design administrative ability to follow file naming conventions, keep track of templates, organize logo / font folders, and create a consistently organized design process that other designers and individuals in the company can easily access and understand 
  • Needs to have basic experience with AfterEffects and video editing
