We are seeking a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting will manage all accounting activities to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for the community.  The ideal candidate will be technically savvy as well as be a strong financial advocate who can assist with the development of the financial acumen of the experience center leads.  The position is considered an Executive Committee level position, reporting directly to the VP & General Manager for Splendido at Rancho Vistoso, and will have regular interaction with residents and Mather headquarters. 

This position is full-time, salaried, and is based on-site at Splendido.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage general ledger reporting for all areas of community. Coordinate daily data transaction analysis generated by financial and clinical systems. Lead preparation and distribution of internal and external financial statements and reports.
  • Establish and enforce proper internal controls and procedures. Review account reconciliations for all general ledger accounts. Analyze and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Review and approve financial information on new resident applications, support sales team with timely response to questions and sales/marketing ideas.
  • Provide accounting support to internal customers to improve operations efficiency, reduce costs and increase revenues.
  • Coordinate budget/forecast process.
  • Develop accounting staff and implement accounting processes and procedure improvements.
  • Prepare audit schedules and ad hoc analyses including government compliance reports and business licenses.
  • Participates in monthly corporate Risk Committee meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5 years experience with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • Proven track record in leadership, accounting and financial analysis
  • Excellent computer skills (MS 365, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal, as well as listening
  • Supervisory experience
