We're seeking a Director of Nursing to ensures safe and ethical standards of practice and clinical excellence in resident care and services; responsible for direction and coordination of all nursing services, according to Mather policies and related Federal and State regulations. Creates meaningful moments in the lives of residents, visitors, and staff by demonstrating Nextraordinary behaviors.

 This position is full-time, salaried, based out of The Mather in Tysons Corner. Weekend and holiday availability as needed required. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops, follows, enforces policies and practices ensure consistency with current standards promulgated by local, state, and federal regulatory bodies; ensures implementation and adherence to policies and procedures related to safety, risk management, resident rights and privacy.
  • Establishes, operationalizes, engages team members in, and sustains a QAPI process
  • Identifies, corrects, and reports deviations from safe practice/risk management issues.
  • Engages in emergency preparedness planning and drills for Assisted Living and Memory Support and participates in community-wide activities.
  • Applies the concepts of the Mather Wellness Model and the 3 A’s in the care of residents, Achievement, Autonomy, and Affiliation.
  • Supervises and provides oversight for all nursing care; coordinates services given by other care providers.
  • Responsible for the clinical record of each resident receiving care; documents in clinical record per documentation policies and standards.
  • Uses a customer -focused approach to problem solving, goal setting and management philosophy.
  •  Responsible for protecting and advocating for resident rights.
  •  Maintains a courteous and professional manner through interactions with others.
  • Responsible for addressing grievances  and concerns.
  • Uses discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Accountable for all relevant human resource functions including but not limited to: hiring, retention, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
  • Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the company Mission, Core Values, and Nextraordinary philosophy.
  • Create exceptional experiences for internal and external customers in every interaction.
  • Increases personal growth and development through formal and informal education programs. 
  •  Facilitates teamwork between functional departments to promote effective operations.
  • Participates in Life Centre weekend schedule to provide leadership coverage. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required:

  • Current State RN License 
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience, preferably in a hospital or skilled nursing facility 
  •  Able to interpret various operational and financial reports 
  • Able to hire, develop, evaluate and coach staff
  • Excellent verbal and written skills 
  •  Knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations 
  •  CPR/AED certification
