Overview:
The Director of Revenue is a vital leadership role at MasterClass collaborating with key teams such as Accounting, Strategic Finance, Data, Sales and Engineering. The role will provide strategic technical revenue guidance for the existing B2C and B2B business as well as helping to provide expertise when new products are launched. The Director of Revenue will also drive process improvements through the utilization of system enhancements. This role will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the internal control environment of the revenue process. This role reports to the VP, Controller.
What You Will Do:
- Responsible for the resources and timelines related to the month and quarter end revenue process, ensuring that the revenue related data is accurate and provided timely for the financial close process
- Provide guidance and conduct research related to revenue recognition items under ASC 606
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Work cross functionally across MasterClass to support the implementation of new revenue products from an operational and technical perspective
- Support the Company’s annual financial external audit by providing accurate revenue support and educating the Company’s auditors on the Company’s revenue process and stance on technical revenue items
- Utilize and help maintain the Company’s tool for revenue recognition related to B2C and B2B revenue
About You:
- Experience implementing and operationalizing revenue systems and reporting
- Strong ASC 606 accounting background and experience
- Highly analytical mind-set with a strong attention to detail
- Desire to continually improve existing processes providing improved visibility to the business
- Passionate curiosity about the business

The salary range listed is for NYC/CA/WA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
MasterClass’s salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. In addition to salary, we also offer equity and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, flexible PTO, and more).
