What we are looking for:

We are building “the navy seals” of strategy & operations.  A small team that can do everything from analysis & strategy to implementation. This small team will push each other intellectually and operationally to help push forward the most important strategic initiatives inside of Masterclass, such as international and new product expansion. In addition to partnering with the team, you will work autonomously and help drive projects with the Consumer and Enterprise teams and cross-functionally with Analytics, Consumer Insights, and others. You will also be focusing on driving overall corporate strategy & driving efficiencies through operational excellence and AI adoption throughout the company. 

You’re a good fit for this role if: You are ready and excited to roll up your sleeves. We are a small but nimble organization and you will be asked to perform tasks with varying degrees of difficulty. You are prepared to perform more routine tasks on the same day that you prepare an analysis and a presentation to the executives of the company.

 

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Collaborate with functional leads on the consumer and enterprise business to drive strategic initiatives and deliver impactful results.
  • Identify, nurture, and implement innovative initiatives, including the integration of AI to enhance operational efficiency at MasterClass.
  • Oversee the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) process, ensuring team accountability through monthly updates and scorecard reviews.
  • Partner with the VP of Business Operations to manage the annual planning process.
  • Work closely with the VP of Business Operations, VP of Finance, and CFO to develop Board of Directors (BOD) presentations.
  • Own business dashboard reporting, consolidating KPIs across the organization and updating cross-functional teams on business performance and key initiatives.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis, tracking activity and reporting relevant updates to the team.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a highly analytical environment - top management consulting firm, investment bank or equivalent, and/or tech/ media/entertainment company
  • Strong modeling skills and experience conducting a quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Prior experience in Corporate Strategy / Business Operations & Strategy in a startup environment preferred
  • A passion for the mission of MasterClass
  • Currently live in California

The salary range listed is for NYC/CA/WA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.

MasterClass’s salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. In addition to salary, we also offer equity and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, flexible PTO, and more). The range listed is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.
