The Foundation has begun working within Canada in partnership with Indigenous communities and post-secondary institutions to listen, learn, and best understand how we can act in meaningful ways. The EleV strategy was co-created with Indigenous communities, young people, and partners to enable 30,000 Indigenous youth to complete their education and transition to dignified work aligned with their values and aspirations.

Through building partnerships with Indigenous communities, we look to expand our initiative ultimately helping to support a generation of transformative Indigenous young leaders who will be change agents within their communities. Reporting to the Lead, Infrastructure Technology, the Systems & Cloud Administrator will play a critical role coordinating the design, installation and management of the Foundation’s server and cloud-based environments to ensure the stable operation and growth potential of the Foundation’s IT technology assets. Responsible for providing extensive technical expertise in all systems and cloud components across multiple platforms. This role will also work externally facing with the Mastercard Foundation’s external partners and technology providers.


  • Provide support of cloud services, network operations and infrastructure; prioritize system and cloud support while monitoring quality control.
  • Monitor and resolve incident and problem tickets as they relate to system and cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Responsible for system performance, security, backups and disaster recovery strategy.
  • Perform application updates, security patches and configuration changes on server and cloud hardware, software, services and management tools.
  • Manage project processes and resources from planning through to implementation and support that meet IT and business requirements; may include enhancements to existing systems.
  • Work closely with the Lead, Infrastructure Technology to implement proactive approaches to monitoring and reporting on system and cloud services that maximize uptime, reliability and visibility.
  • Work closely with Cyber security team to proactively identify and remediate threats/risks.
  • Monitor server and cloud services and support to ensure their consistent, reliable and secure delivery through active monitoring of error logs and user-reported issues.
  • Support and monitor vendor contract and service levels
  • Influence server and cloud infrastructure decisions related to the overall IT Infrastructure roadmap.
  • Coordinate projects from planning to implementation phases with minimal supervision.
  • Remain current with trends, new developments and issues in IT including innovation, current technologies, compliance, cyber risks and software, hardware and licensing costs.
  • Serve as a technical resource for team members, and ensure awareness and training on IT standards, policies, and procedures
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation and diagrams for systems infrastructure.


  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma and/or certificate in IT-related fields, or in another field but with deep technical knowledge of network administration or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience supporting system and cloud infrastructure technologies, including vendor management, legacy system transformations, and technology hardware evaluation and implementation.
  • Possesses a senior level of system and cloud infrastructure expertise coupled with a high degree of business acumen to understand business strategy and initiatives and relate it to technology needs.
  • Experienced in server and cloud administration with exceptional analytic and troubleshooting skills for solving problems.
  • Previous experience analyzing KPIs that measure cloud capacity and performance is an asset.
  • Ability to manage vendors and ensure quality and SLA standards are being met.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost reductions through new technology and/or the leveraging of technology across the organization.
  • Experience working with traditional on-premise server and cloud environments.
  • Deep familiarity with SAAS-based solutions.
  • Practical hands-on experience and best practices for a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment.
    • Microsoft Azure IaaS, M365 – Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, Sentinel
  • Windows Server, Active Directory.
  • Cloud-first methodology.
  • Curious and passionate about how existing and emerging technologies and service providers can be utilized to improve existing user experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills, self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective priority management skills with the ability to work well in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to translate complex technical terminology into a user friendly, understandable, non-intimidating format.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability and availability to provide extended hours and off-hour support.
  • Possess good communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills with the ability to articulate information to a variety of constituents across cultures.
  • Exceptional analytic and troubleshooting skills for solving problems with efficiency and calm.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in complex environments with an aptitude for diplomacy.
  • Intellectually curious and flexible, is comfortable with ambiguity and high level of stress.
  • With strong ability to proactively address issues, a self-starter, and a self-learner.
  • Vendor management and negotiation skills. Experience managing technology services providers is an asset.
  • Possesses a global mind-set and professional maturity and demonstrates sensitivity to working within different cultures.
  • A team player who can work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
