About your role

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. As our Python Web Developer, you’ll report to the Engineering Lead and will be working on a number of tools and applications that support the programs designed to help grow and scale the next generation of technology companies in Canada.

At your core, you love technology and software. When you’re not hand-crafting well-formed, object-oriented, reusable, testable, and efficient code, you’re working to build your knowledge and skills in all related areas – and there are a lot of them. Back-end data and schema architecture, APIs and middle-ware, front-end HTML, JavaScript, and CSS are all areas you’re well versed in. Containers and source control are table stakes for you because CI/CD how you roll. You’ve worked with AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda and know how to design and write solid, performant APIs, as well as consume other’s APIs in a fault-tolerant way. You truly “get” security because you know that the internet is an unsafe place for those to code carelessly.

You also like working collaboratively in a team because you know that great software comes from teams that work so well together that they can finish each other’s sentences. Oh, and your colleagues at MaRS are doing no less than helping the next generation of startups scale in order to move the needle on the economic success of Canada. If this sounds like your dream job, we can’t wait to hear from you.
