What you’ll be doing

Autonomous robots which operate safely and effectively in complex pedestrian environments require processing and fusing many sources of data in real-time. Devices such as cameras, radar, 3D point cloud sensors, and GPS give our robot keen environmental awareness. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will work at the boundary between hardware and software to enable our robot to efficiently use these data sources. You will be working to sharpen our ability to consume low-latency video, high bandwidth sensor data, and data exchange between multiple computing platforms.


  • 5-10+ years of building and shipping embedded Linux products
  • Proficient in C and/or C++
  • Ability to develop device drivers and applications on embedded Linux systems
  • Excellent intuition for debugging, especially hardware/software interaction issues
  • Familiarity with hardware bus protocols (e.g. - UART, PCIe, MIPI, SPI, I2C, UART)
  • Fluent in using embedded toolchains (compiler, programmer, debugger, version control)
  • Capable of self-managing and working with a multi-disciplinary group
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and oral)


  • Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Experience in any of the following:
    • Previous work on robotics projects
    • Linux multimedia system (e.g. - V4L2)
    • Safety critical systems
    • FPGA to computer interfacing
    • Sensor interfacing
