Your next role as a Miracle Maker
Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Financial Reporting team as a Senior Technical Accountant.
As a Senior Accountant you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting. In this position, you will leverage your expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations to support complex accounting transactions and prepare detailed financial statements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external auditors to address technical accounting issues, develop and update accounting policies, and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be crucial in reviewing contracts, preparing earnings call materials, and driving the timely closure of accounting matters.
How you will make an impact:
- Research and Compliance:
- Research and interpret accounting standards and regulations, such as U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements, to ensure compliance with all financial reporting obligations.
- Assist with conducting research on accounting literature pertaining to new business initiatives, contracts and/or transactions.
- Assist with analyzing FASB new and proposed accounting standards and whether they impact the company.
- Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Assist with preparing financial statements and disclosures for interim and annual SEC filings, 10-Q and 10-K, financial footnote, and MD&A disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. ensuring they meet regulatory standards.
- Assist with preparation of accounting memos for significant accounting transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leases, debt, and revenue recognition.
- Responsible for preparation of support workpapers, tie-outs, SOX checklists, etc. in connection with technical memos.
- Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls for areas of relevant areas.
- Perform the detailed tie-out for quarterly earnings call materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Perform monthly closing and reporting tasks relating to EPS calculation.
- Perform review of new contracts, monthly, and provide contract summary including contract type, value, and accounting treatment to the accounting department.
- Work proactively with external auditors to drive timely closure of technical accounting matters and support finance & accounting teams to ensure proper accounting and disclosures.
- Policy Development:
- Assist with the development and updating of accounting policies and procedures to align with new standards and business practices.
The skills and experience that you will bring:
- Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience required; Big 4 accounting firm and CPA preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and FASB codification and pronouncements.
- Ability to identify, research, resolve, and document accounting issues in a logical, clear and professional manner.
- Fast learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work jointly and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies, developing strong relationships.
- High energy and intellectually curious – with a proven ability to communicate and manage timelines and deliverables upwards.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $96,000 - $120,000. In addition, highly competitive long-term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
