SUMMARY  

The High Voltage Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with local and national electrical codes. Your duties will include reading blueprints, troubleshooting electrical issues, running the substation, and ensuring the safety and functionality of electrical systems. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  

  1. Installs, maintains, repairs, and tests high-voltage and medium voltage electrical equipment like transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and protective relays.
  2. Run the substation.
  3. Performs preventive maintenance tasks like cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating equipment.
  4. Troubleshoots electrical problems within the substation.
  5. May operate substation control panels and monitor power flow using SCADA systems.
  6. Ensures adherence to safety regulations when working with high voltage electricity.
  7. Reads and interprets blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  8. May keep logs and document maintenance and repair work. 
  9. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, including power distribution units, backup generators, and cooling systems.
  10. Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics.
  11. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, implementing effective solutions.
  12. Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
  13. Collaborate with other team members and contractors on projects.
  14. Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  15. Safely operate hand and power tools used in electrical
  16. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
  17. Conduct maintenance on electrical equipment.
  18. Organize external electrical service teams on site.
  19. On call for emergencies.
  20. After essential duties are completed, the electrician will be assigned other duties.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Master level electrician license or relevant experience in substation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience working with high voltage equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit for the demands of the job, which may involve climbing, lifting, and working outdoors. 
  • Proven experience in 3-phase wiring and medium/high voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with Bitcoin mining or data center operations a plus.
  • Travel may be required.
