The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in driving business growth and expanding our market presence in the renewable energy sector. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Identify and Develop Business Opportunities:
    • Generate leads and prospect potential clients, partners, investors, and other stakeholders interested in renewable energy development opportunities with co-located data centers.
  2. Build and Maintain Relationships:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, government agencies, industry associations, commercial and industrial clients, investors, and community organizations.
  3. Lead Sales and Business Development Efforts:
    • Lead the sales process from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing, coordinating with internal teams to develop customized proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to client needs.
  4. Manage Sales Pipeline and Forecasting:
    • Maintain and update a comprehensive sales pipeline, tracking leads, opportunities, and customer interactions using CRM software or other tools.
  5. Negotiate Contracts and Agreements:
    • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, agreements, and partnerships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with company objectives and policies.
  6. Support Project Development Activities:
    • Collaborate with project development teams to support the identification, assessment, and acquisition of renewable energy project opportunities, including site selection, permitting, land acquisition, and feasibility studies.
  7. Promote Brand Visibility and Thought Leadership:
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking forums to promote brand visibility, thought leadership, and market positioning in the renewable energy sector.
  8. Monitor Industry Trends and Regulatory Developments:
    • Stay informed about market trends, policy changes, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies in the renewable energy industry, providing insights and recommendations to senior management to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risks.
  9. Contribute to Team Collaboration and Growth:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, engineering, finance, and operations, to align business development efforts with overall company objectives and strategies.
  10. Adhere to Ethical and Compliance Standards:
    • Conduct all business activities with integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards, adhering to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education:
    • Bachelor preferred in engineering, environmental science, business, operations, management or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing roles, preferably within the renewable energy industry or related sectors such as clean technology, energy efficiency, or environmental consulting.
  • Renewable Energy Knowledge:
    • In-depth understanding of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and industry dynamics, including solar, wind, hydroelectric, biomass, geothermal, and energy storage.
  • Sales and Negotiation Skills:
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport, influence decision-makers, and close deals effectively.
  • Strategic Planning and Market Analysis:
    • Ability to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies to identify new business opportunities, assess market demand, and position the company's offerings competitively.
  • Relationship Building and Networking:
    • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, industry partners, investors, and government agencies.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and value propositions clearly and persuasively.
  • Project Management and Collaboration:
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and operations, to develop and execute business development initiatives.
