Who is MANTL?
MANTL is a fast growing NYC-based FinTech SaaS company helping banks and credit unions grow. Community banks and credit unions play an important role in the US economy and at MANTL we are passionate about preserving that. Our mission is to use technology to level the playing field in banking. We do that by creating banking software that empowers banks and credit unions to grow digitally.
Our flagship product, Online Account Opening, has quickly become considered best in class in our industry, showing clear and material performance beyond any of our competitors. We have agile teams, with clear, outcomes-focused goals. Suffice to say, our customers love us.
Since launching our first product in 2017, we have built several new products, tripled our headcount, and become cash-flow positive.

Product Designer Overview:
You’ll be part of a core UX & Design team that handles everything from concept to research and design, and all of the iterative cycles in-between. Expect to be involved in iterations on our newest product initiatives, as well as various areas of the rest of the product suite and our design system. You’ll be working alongside virtually all the stakeholders and can expect to have frequent interactions with customers.
You will play a key role in the overall product strategy and its tactical implementation. This would include lending your voice to help improve our processes within the team and how we collaborate cross-departmentally, as well as contributing to the upkeep and expansion of our design system. We’re looking leaders who have great experiences from diverse backgrounds who can share those with the rest of the team. In return, you’ll learn a ton about the unique challenges that occur in our corner of the FinTech industry and work alongside an incredibly talented team of designers and engineers.
What the rest of 2019 looks like for us
This year, our highest priorities are to release some new workflow efficiency products—stuff bank employees use to make their jobs easier. In addition to those, we have several initiatives that pertain to iterations of our existing product suite—stuff that helps banks get more customers. This will no doubt be a challenge for any incoming designer because not only are banking products inherently complex, at MANTL product designers must be especially mindful of the ecology of our system. Everything is tied together, so design decisions in one area often have major effects elsewhere. This means that research and conversations with customers and experts, testing, prototyping and iteration are part of everyday life in Design at MANTL.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience designing digital products in-house at software companies (agency work is OK, but preference given to candidates who work closely with engineers and product managers)
- Strong portfolio showcasing user experience, interaction, and visual design. Portfolio should include process and outcomes
- Demonstrable understanding of user research principals, and principles of design processes, methods, and activities
