Reporting to the Financial controller, the Senior Accounting Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring a timely period-end close and accurate financial reporting, as well as assisting the finance team with day-to-day business operations. The ideal candidate is highly proactive, a strong critical thinker, a problem solver, and extremely organized. You are someone who works independently on a variety of tasks and adapts to a fast-changing environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to monthly financial operations by assisting in account preparation, and reconciliation, and conducting insightful analyses of financial statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in preparation and processing of accounts payable transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end close accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data to ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Supporting the audit preparation and providing relevant documentation to the auditors. 
  • Contribute to process improvements and optimization of accounting procedures. 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 2+ years of professional experience in audit, or accounting
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency with Excel and accounting software (experience with Quickbooks or similar tool is a plus)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Well-organized and able to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately
  • High energy, flexible, and has a willingness to take initiative
  • CPA designation an asset
