Job Description

This position will involve leading a small team of engineers collecting ground truth data for computer vision algorithms with Magic Leap device prototypes in Florida. Role responsibilities include:

  • Maximizing collection volume while ensuring data quality and yield
  • Setting up and maintaining custom data collection software tools
  • Managing the team’s time to meet various clients’ data requirements
  • Main point of contact for ground truth data in Magic Leap headquarters in FL
  • Setting up and using high precision equipment to capture both environments and/or user behavior in different environments
  • Collaborating with multi-functional teams like Hardware and Software
  • Handle confidential information and any device prototypes with discretion
  • Continuously improving the process of data collection

A successful applicant will be comfortable working with complex hardware and software, be able to debug common problems, comfortable balancing a variety of operations requests with minimal supervision, work well under pressure in the face of unexpected events, and meticulous with logging of collection data so that all collected data is usable. 

 Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Linux, command line tools and editors, scripting
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles for small team of 4 or more
  • Evaluating prototype systems for accuracy and precision
  • Ability to troubleshoot networking connectivity, electrical components (soldering, oscilloscope, and other measuring equipment)
  • Basic scripting in python / C++ code, reading, compiling
  • Capable of lifting 30lbs with proper equipment and help

Education:

  • BS degree in the technical field
