We're looking for an imaginative, strategic, passionate Brand Designer to elevate and help establish the brand design guidelines for Magic Leap. Our brand is fun, joyful, and curious.  It’s at the heart of all communication and content. The Brand Designer will help establish the core brand language for consumer, enterprise and developer facing marketing communicating.  They will be working with several teams to establish the Magic Leap brand across digital and social properties as well as at events, demos and in brand comms. As Brand Designer, you will collaborate with cross disciplinary teams and act as both an artistic and design problem solver.  Through your knowledge of systemic design, graphic design, interactivity, layout, typography, color theory and illustration you will act as both an artistic and design problem solver.


  • You will establish, maintain, and evolve the visual brand guidelines as a living, breathing resource for Magic Leap
  • Design tasks include marketing campaigns, visual identities, brand assets for experiential events, digital and social content, and general brand communications
  • Establish brand design processes to enable strong, impactful, thoughtful, work
  • Develop a relationship between logo mark, type family, color palette, iconography, photo style and pattern library
  • Make meaningful decisions on the visual style to improve usability and craft of immersive experiences in a thematically consistent style
  • Communicate high level concepts with confidence and give clear feedback
  • Skilled at clearly communicate ideas when presenting work


  • 5+ years work experience
  • A design leader with deep experience in graphic design, brand strategy, developing a visual language, product and marketing communications.
  • Understanding of the value of design to business at large, and can advocate for the necessity of strong design to leaders across verticals.
  • Strong command and understanding of design fundamentals (typography, composition, balance, art direction, pacing, narrative), and maintain a high standard for quality of output.
  • Have translated brand strategy into design initiatives and executional plans in product and marketing communications, informed by customer research and insights.
  • Deep experience in fine tuning and evolving a brand with the growth of a company.
  • An excellent on-line portfolio showcasing brand visual design work
  • Able to function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Mastery of composition, typography, color, and imagery
  • Mastery of design tools: Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
