Magic Leap is a world leader in Augmented Reality devices, including our displays. We're looking to expand our projector group. This team works with both our current and next-generation display technologies, helping prototype and evaluate new display technologies, as well as calibrate and refine existing technologies. We are seeking engineers experienced with displays, image processing ASICs, projectors, color spaces, color calibration, and display signal paths interested in helping us in these efforts.
Provide leadership for software, controls, and electronics development related to optical and electrical engineering teams.
Responsible for drivers, test suites, and more on various prototyping platforms while will work closely with our optical and electrical engineering teams on cutting edge displays.
Deliver high quality software design, documentation and implementation that meet distinct requirements.
Assist with writing and reviewing projector and display related drivers, including things like failure detection and recovery, or even help author tools to display specific test patterns and modes to qualify things like display sharpness, color fidelity, and more.
Play a part in constant improvement of Magic Leaps technical offerings by learning new skills and tools.
8+ years’ experience in an embedded software role
3+ years’ experience in display technologies
Experience with LCD, LCOS, DLP, OLED or other display technologies
Understanding of digital representations of light, color spaces, and gamma encoding
Experience with I2C and SPI Interfaces
Understanding of common interfaces such as DisplayPort and/or HDMI
Fluent in C programming
Experience with the Linux Operating system helpful
Ability to work in the Linux device driver/HAL layers
Bachelors or Master's degree in electrical/computer engineering or similar field, MS preferred
