Job Description
As a Learning Resource Technical Artist at Magic Leap, you will be focusing on teaching folks from all backgrounds how to create compelling, performant content for Magic Leap. You will work with the internal teams to help teach those interested in creating for Magic Leap in the way they learn best. The ideal candidate has a background in Technical Art, with an emphasis on teaching others.
Responsibilities
Create, edit, and maintain the Learning Resources for Magic Leap. These contain but are not limited to: written documentation, best practices, videos, sample projects
Develop samples, propose workflow improvements, and enhance the art pipeline for ML
Work with other internal teams to understand the challenges presented to the customer and assist in crafting solutions for them
Work with the internal content teams to investigate and provide well documented solutions for common challenges in development.
Teach process and best practices to other developers
Record technical presentations targeted at content creators.
Qualifications
In depth knowledge of game engines applications (Maya, Unreal Engine, Unity, etc…)
Understanding and ability to educate others of the performance impact of various artistic techniques on specific hardware.
Experience with one or more of the following; Python, C#, Mel, etc.
Experience performing various tech art related tasks such as; shader development, special effects creation, level construction, environment and character lighting
Great interpersonal Skills
Detail oriented with strong communication skills; both verbal and written. Able to communicate complex technical issues via email and in person.
Prior experience creating video tutorials.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Art.
