Magic Leap, Inc. is currently seeking a motivated and talented leader to be the Creative Director of Industrial Design. This person with lead the Industrial Design program, including: industrial design concept generation, form development, 3D CAD work, organizing group meetings, supporting and nurturing the design team, execution and implementation of the design, collaboration and communication with engineering department and instruct factory and manufacturing partner. The digital tools to be used include: 3D Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshots, Adobe Creative Cloud, Office and other tools as needed. The product to be design covers a wide range of items include magic Leap unique wearable headset, portable computer packet, handheld remote controller, input accessories, soft goods, carrying case and packaging design. The Creative director must have a strong creative mind to give birth to an industrial design solution stunning form with superior functionality. Her/she must have substantial experience in delivering successful and manufacturable product to the market. More importantly that person must be a people leader. Good team player with a heart to care and support other design members.
Responsible for leading the creative industrial design effort for Magic Leap products.
Collaborate with the industrial design team, as well as mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, optical engineers, system engineers, program managers, supply chain and user interaction designer within Magic Leap.
Required to work effectively with contract manufacturers, manufacturing partners, design consultants, CMF partners and our model shop.
Collaborate with and report to the Senior Vice President of Design to understand company's business objective and product direction.
Provide weekly activity reports to the SVP of Design.
15+ or more years experience with industrial design development in relevant industry, such as electronic product, computing product, communication product and wearable technology product.
Experienced and skilled in software such as Rhino, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Office.
Good verbal and written skills to sufficiently communicate design concepts and objectives.
Experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively lead a team, respect other opinion, building consensus, unite vision to come up with an actionable plan.
Be able to get the work done under tight technical constraints and timeline.
Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Industrial Design Program.
