As our NPI Engineer, Optical, you will own the production quality, process capability, issue resolution, and overall delivery of Magic Leap’s proprietary display technology for Magic Leap One. Working with onsite Contract Manufacturing and remote Product Development teams, you will bring the display optical assembly from development into mass production.
Deeply understand, monitor, and actively improve critical to customer quality parameters of the optical display
Master and maintain onsite optical metrology capabilities to aid in root cause / corrective action sprints
Root-cause, debug, and implement corrective actions for failure modes occurring in factory test
Provide on-site support for quantitative and qualitative onsite factory test and calibration stations.
Drive test gauge R&R to achieve targeted manufacturing yield and cycle time goals.
A minimum of 5-7 years combined experience
Optical module process engineering experience (projector modules, camera modules, semi-conductor / wafer processing)
Understanding of product development and manufacturing procedures and qualification processes, experience in optical products is preferred
Very strong ability to troubleshoot systems and interpret statistical data
Experience with test equipment a major plus
Direct leadership experience of technical contributors
Excellent written, presentation and interpersonal skills are required
Experience with high-volume world-class design and manufacturing techniques for consumer electronic products
BS degree in an Engineering or Physics discipline, Optics education preferred
