Our Reverse Logistics team is searching for an Optical Engineer with strong hands-on lab experience. They should be an expert in their respective discipline, being principally responsible for Reverse Engineering, Diagnostics and Repairs of Optical components.
We are looking for candidates who are creative, energetic team players who excel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Reverse engineering for Optical components and assemblies
Research, Develop and Manage diagnostics and repair procedures
Optics technical support
Liaison with Optical Design team and Test and Metrology team.
Develop processes for Optical material recovery
Support NPI operation
The candidate should have applied experience with:
Industry experience in consumer electronics, compact imaging systems or optical systems is preferred
Using electro-optic and photonic devices
Lab skills including use of optical instruments
Image processing experience in Matlab or OpenCV
Reverse engineering of Optical components
Diagnostics and repairs
Familiarity with optical software to analyze designs
Familiarity with clean room protocol
Familiarity with optical system and component construction
Analysis of test and metrology data sets
Ability to travel to other Magic Leap locations and vendors for up to 50% is required
Must be confident in a highly dynamic and creative environment
Desirable experience would include:
Alignment of optical systems
Characterization of optical systems
Preparation of teardown reports
Development of special measurements
Knowledge of statistical analysis
Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering or Applied Physics with 4 years or more of experience, or Master’s Degree with 2 years of experience in Optic Engineering or Physics, or related field.
Associate Degree from appropriate technical College could also be considered, with 4 years or more of experience.
