The Role
As the Director of SRE at Magic, you will be responsible for the reliability, scalability and availability of the infrastructure and core service layers that Magic rests upon, and allow all the different parts of Magic to work smoothly together.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the organization's infrastructure and systems
- Develop, drive and execute a long-term vision and strategy for infrastructure and core services to be leveraged by all of Magic’s products
- Define and drive reliability best practices and improvements across the organization’s boundaries while setting clear measures of success across Magic
- Deliver and maintain a long-term roadmap for core service capabilities and supported interfaces for development
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to the team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Lead infrastructure incident response and disaster recovery efforts
- Support the reliable operation of the systems as a Platform for Magic products, and allow the company to rapidly deliver reliable, performant, and scalable services to our customers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement new technologies and tools to improve infrastructure and core service operations
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in infrastructure engineering to ensure the organization stays competitive
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards
- Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for team members and leaders to evolve in their roles at a company scale
Who You Are
- 10+ years of experience in software and infrastructure engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering space
- Strong technical background in software and infrastructure engineering and operations
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, or GCP
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
- Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements for infrastructure operations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Compensation Range
- $265k-$325k
