The Cosmetic Quality Engineer reports to the Head of the Operations Department.
This role is part of the Quality Team in the Operations Department; and is based in Levallois-Perret.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the implementation, management, and monitoring of the quality of our customers' cosmetic products in the development, production, and distribution phase
- Be the quality contact for MAESA's internal and external departments: suppliers, subcontractors and customers
- Work in a project team with the various Maesa departments: Development, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, Production, and Logistics
- Meet customer requirements and check the application of Maesa expectations by our suppliers and subcontractors (specifications)
- Carry out supplier and subcontractor audits, evaluate them, and participate in the follow-up of action plans
- Participate in the improvement of the MAESA quality management system
Additionally, the Cosmetic Quality Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
In the Development Phase:
- Define the quality budget and assess quality risks
- Participate in the approval of new products with the project manager
- Validate with the project manager the control elements (standard, panoplies, specifications, etc.) and ensure & communicate their availability
- Participate in the drafting of finished product specification sheets and ensure that they are understood and integrated by our subcontractors
In the Production Phase:
- Participate in the launch of production with suppliers and subcontractors
- Carry out the various controls and analysis on packaging items: bulk and finished products according to the defined control plan
- Be the guarantor of the quality of the products released
- Deal with non-conformities: implement and monitor the action plan
- Validate the transition to Quality Assurance for suppliers and subcontractors
In the Distribution Phase:
- Address customer feedback
Operational Activities:
- Master Good Cosmetic Manufacturing Practices (ISO22716) as well as Control and Quality Tools (ISO 2859, 5M, 5S, PDCA, etc.)
- Master Project Management and Quality Assurance Techniques
Qualifications
- Takes methodical approach to tasks, while remaining flexible

- Shows expertise at managing change and unforeseen circumstances
- A Bac+5, Master 2, or Engineering School Degree with a specialization in Quality
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the same or related field.
- Experience working with a team: leading or contributing to managing a functional group
- Expertise managing projects.
- Strong sense of customer relations and operational excellence.
- Attentive, methodical and organized
- Committed to professional goals and ensure the follow-up of the files entrusted to you with attentiveness and accuracy
- Effective and empathetic team leadership and coordination: guiding one another towards common goals.
- Strong team cross-collaboration communication skills
- English and French fluency – a 3rd language is a plus!
- Experience working on an industrial site, with cosmetic packaging being ideal
- Able to work in project mode with internal and external interlocutors
- Master quality tools (ISO 2859, 5S, etc.), and problem-solving tools (5M), risk analysis tools and PDCA
- Knowledge of audit techniques applied with suppliers/subcontractors.
- Proficient in the Office Pack and have experience with one or more ERPs, such as DIVALTO
