Description Summary: Defines and implements IT quality assurance practices and procedures. Manages a group of quality assurance analysts who test evaluate and validate IT initiatives and identify issues in software or services. Analyzes discrepancies in service or performance and makes recommendations for product or service updates. Provides evaluation and improvement roadmaps for both product and processes across the smaller web products.      

Essential Duties:

The duties listed below are the essential functions of this position, and they may change as the needs of the company demand. All associates are expected to do what is necessary to get the work done and to cooperate fully with their supervisor’s requests for additional or altered duties. 

  • This position supervises all other roles assigned to this department personally or through subordinate supervisors, including recruiting, training and development, performance management, motivation, corrective action or termination in conjunction with HR if necessary.
  • Report to and collaborate with QA Manager to ensure company-wide product quality.
  • Lead and direct QA team for M3 payroll & analytics products both internal and external.
  • Motivate, coach, mentor, supervise QA team members with excellent people management and soft skills.
  • Responsible for day to day operations of the QA Payroll & Analytics Teams.
  • Monitor outstanding issues and recommend priorities and communicate estimated completion time.
  • Collaborate with PM and Dev departments.
  • Oversee and direct Quality Planning Test Planning approaches established from key stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy of product functionality and test plan timelines.
  • Ensures test environments are to standard and upgrades are in line with best practices.
  • Assures QA/Test critical involvement throughout the entire product software development life cycle (SDLC) and aligns with project management accordingly.
  • Uses experience and judgement to plan and achieve goals for the department.
  • Communicates with all departments to ensure product quality.
  • Ongoing review and creation of the Seven (7) KPAâs (Key Process Areas) for the QA Payroll & Analytics team.
  • Test Planning.
  • Test Environment Preparation.
  • Test Plan and Test Case Development.
  • Test Execution.
  • Test Results Analysis.
  • Test Management Reporting.
  • Test Asset Management.
  • This position supervises all positions assigned to this department including recruiting training and development performance management corrective action motivation task oversight and if necessary, termination of employment in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Oversees the configuration and maintenance of the lab environment and makes recommendations for improvements or equipment.
  • Review all test plans and test results.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to work towards release dates and goals.
  • Employ proven methodology and documentation tools.
  • Proactively carry out product support and create clear goals to achieve results.
  • Establishes QA team and personnel goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a directly related position; excellent people management and soft skills are a must.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT MIS or Computer Science highly preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have strong written and verbal skills in English.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing spreadsheets database and presentation software (MSWord Excel Access PowerPoint).
  • Specific certifications and trainings adding to the global experience of this profession are welcomed and desired.
  • Six Sigma Scrum Certifications (CSM CSPO CSD) CSQM or ISTQB Manager or higher.
  • Experience supervising others is a must.
  • Must be able to build and maintain positive business relationships with co-workers and other business contacts.
  • Specific certifications and trainings adding to the global experience of this professional welcomed and desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in the office regularly, or pivot to working at home should emergency situations arise.
  • Ability to travel in representing the company’s interests required.
  • Ability to attend work per assigned schedule and attend meetings with excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 25 lbs.
