What you'll be doing:

This Product Manager will lead the team that sits at the nexus of Engineering, Revenue Management, Data Science and Finance, building product solutions that enable the company to achieve financial success. You'll be responsible for delivering solutions across five core aspects of our business: 
  1. Wheelhouse: Wheelhouse is our user-facing product that enables short-term rental owners / managers to optimize their pricing and achieve up to 40% more revenue. It's core to providing us our data advantage and shares a symbiotic relationship with many other parts of the business. In this role, you’ll be responsible for empowering and mentoring your team to take advantage of the huge growth opportunity that Wheelhouse provides. 
  2. Pricing engine: Our pricing engine powers Wheelhouse, our internal revenue management, our real estate evaluation tools and our internal data science efforts related to pricing. As the Group PM for Financial Success, you’ll be responsible for bringing the Revenue Management, Data Science, Engineering and Finance teams together to drive revenue-enhancing improvements to our pricing engine and improve forecast accuracy.
  3. Performance analytics / insights: We cannot improve our performance unless we understand it. You’ll drive efforts in this area forward in conjunction with our Data Science and Revenue Management teams.
  4. Financial operations: As we scale, the ability of our Finance team to manage the finances of thousands of units will become a significant challenge. You’ll be responsible for delivering solutions to ensure transparency, visibility, and scalability in concert with cross-functional stakeholders. 
  5. Data warehousing / analytics: You’ll be responsible for ensuring we have a data lake that supports the Finance’s teams needs but also, eventually, those of the rest of the organization. Responsibilities also include owning the tools that support analytics across the organization plus appropriate training / guidance for effective use of our tools / data. 
To start, this role will consist of both individual contributor and management responsibilities (with existing direct reports).

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience: You have at least 8 years of experience as a product manager, having shipped successful products from inception to release - and then grown said products - that both delight customers and meet core business and strategic needs.
  • Respected leader and manager: You’ve led a team of PMs for at least 2 years and have a deep-seated desire to mentor and help your team grow. You also have a leadership mindset, capable of motivating an all-star cross-functional set of teammates.
  • Deep analytical expertise: You’ve got extensive experience working with data science-heavy products. You’re an expert at SQL and A/B testing and are not afraid to get into the nitty gritty of data science concepts. You’re highly skilled at defining, acquiring and utilizing both qualitative and quantitative metrics to drive data-informed product decisions. 
  • Emotional intelligence: You rank highly in terms of emotional intelligence, able to generate deep empathy with customers which, together with a sense of self-awareness, enables you to truly listen to product feedback.
  • Ruthless prioritization: You’re capable of ruthless prioritization and have a ‘get stuff done’ attitude, filling the gaps across multiple disciplines when needed to achieve the goals that you’ve laid out. 
  • Product instincts: You have innate product instincts and an eye for beautiful, effective design with a keen understanding of what the minimum viable product is to validate the hypotheses you’ve set out.
  • Technically-minded: You’re technically-oriented, able to garner the respect of engineers and capable of speaking to them in their own language.

Your first 90 days:

  • Learn more about the people, vision, values, mission, OKRs, tools, and products of Lyric
  • Meet your team and understand their OKRs, personal development goals, successes and challenges.
  • Develop deep knowledge of our pricing engine and data science efforts.
  • Get to know key stakeholders (including Wheelhouse users, our Revenue Management team, our Data Science team, and our Finance team) to gain an understanding of their pain points and opportunities to improve their lives.
  • In concert with the Finance team, execute our ERP implementation and ensure a successful outcome.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Science team, as well as the Revenue Management and Inventory Acquisition teams, to establish a robust roadmap for future innovation, particularly vis-a-vis our pricing engine.
  • Work with your team to put a plan in place to turbocharge Wheelhouse growth and set our customers up for success.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to refine and enhance the robustness of our performance analytics KPIs, insights and forecasts.
  • Work with the VP of Product and your fellow team members to define the Financial Success roadmap.
