At Lyric we believe life should not be put on hold, while on the road. Travel should be an opportunity to feel more inspired, gain a fresh perspective, and connect with your destination. Our creative suites feature flexible spaces, purposeful design, and crafted experiences so that where you stay becomes a place for you to experience more.
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help turn our vision into reality - someone to create meaningful and delightful experiences with involvement in the end-to-end product development process at Lyric.
This role, in particular, focuses on the products our guests and potential guests use to help them achieve a seamless, delightful stay. This includes our website, our to-be-created guest mobile app and how these are brought together with our in-room technology.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning the product design of our website and guest mobile apps to create a delightful, seamless guest experience.
  • Driving identification of customer needs across the entire system, together with your product and engineering counterparts, through user research, competitive analysis, and other means.
  • Creating simple but beautiful end-to-end solutions to address customer needs, including UX design, visual design, wire-framing, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes and micro-interaction animations.
  • Conducting user research to both understand user needs and validate and iterate on solutions.
  • Evolving and improving upon design thinking, processes, and tools in the company.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experienced: You have at least 5 years experience designing well-received complete systems, not only singular websites or apps.
  • Empathetic: You are able to deeply empathize with users to understand their needs and how best to address those needs through product design, demonstrated through a track record of beautiful, accessible products.
  • Passion for learning and mentorship: You love improving yourself and helping to grow your fellow designers.
  • Multi-disciplinary, platform agnostic: You can take any tool and figure out how to use it efficiently and effectively to achieve the desired goals across any platform. Expertise in HTML/CSS/JS preferred.
  • Skilled UX designer: You are a seasoned and skilled UX designer and are able to demonstrate and articulate understanding of information architecture, multi-step and cross-platform flows. You are able to create interactive prototypes in tool like Framer, or Keynote or Invision.
  • Skilled visual designer: You are a seasoned and skilled visual designer and are able to demonstrate and articulate understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
  • Iterative: You constantly seek to validate and improve upon your ideas, through both user testing and assessment of quantitative data.
  • Self-starter: You take initiative and don’t need to be told what to do. You suggest paths forward and are constantly thinking of what needs to be done next to build a better product.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

Because we do business with the government, we must reach out to, hire, and provide equal opportunity to qualified people with disabilities1. To help us measure how well we are doing, we are asking you to tell us if you have a disability or if you ever had a disability. Completing this form is voluntary, but we hope that you will choose to fill it out. If you are applying for a job, any answer you give will be kept private and will not be used against you in any way.

If you already work for us, your answer will not be used against you in any way. Because a person may become disabled at any time, we are required to ask all of our employees to update their information every five years. You may voluntarily self-identify as having a disability on this form without fear of any punishment because you did not identify as having a disability earlier.

How do I know if I have a disability?

You are considered to have a disability if you have a physical or mental impairment or medical condition that substantially limits a major life activity, or if you have a history or record of such an impairment or medical condition.
