The Ethical Sourcing Business Analyst plays an essential role in growing talent in our business through collaboration and sharing best practices with the Buying Team, the Accounting and wider Finance team. You know how to be curious about opportunities and how to be real with feedback and support.

The Ethical Sourcing Business Analyst is responsible for key components that feed into the monthly and annual financial reports, budgets and work plans of all Lush Investment businesses. They support the various needs of the business and ensure day to day operations and inquiries flow smoothly.  This role will ensure that general business activities of each of the investments business and decision-making process are executed accurately and on time. This role works closely with the Lush Investments team accountant, the Ethical buying team and the managers and key staff of each business.

Reporting to the Lush Investments Business Manager and working closely with various teams, your core RESPONSIBILITIES will include:

  • Support Lush Investments Business Development Manager in supporting four agro-businesses in different countries across the world, including:
    • Researching and assessing country requirements for business activities
    • Supporting local team development with processes related to financial, general reporting, manufacturing, processing and exporting materials and samples
    • Monitoring biological and social inventories
    • Developing and adjusting budgets and business plans
    • Working with local lawyers and accountants on local laws and government regulation to provide guidance to each business
  • Build business plans around supply chains, financial viability, environmental conservation and regeneration, and ongoing economic development
  • Support in implementation of internal company policies in the investment businesses
  • Manage and facilitate the documentation of the business as needed
  • Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and solutions to solve business challenges
  • Support preparation of monthly financial reporting including preparation of journal
  • Coordinate with closely with the Lush Investments Accountant and Business Managers of each of the four businesses.
  • Develop and maintain financial databases for all businesses
  • Support in due diligence and maintenance of any partnership and property management agreements
  • Support various audits of the businesses (ie. annual financial audit and specific State audits, etc) by preparing supporting documents and coordinating with other team members as needed
  • Support in monitoring implementation of company policies across the investment businesses
  • Assisting with other department needs as it relates to Lush Investments
  • Participate in cross team collaborations within Lush, including supporting work in strategic areas
  • Building networks and for the ongoing work with the ethical buying and Sustainable Lush teams on overall project goals and supply viability


You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 5+ years’ experience in financial analysis and planning
  • Degree and certifications in finance or related field
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Pro-active approach and initiative
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize
  • Work effectively in a time pressured environment
  • Fluent in English, with ability to communicate in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Strong moral and ethical compass rooted in the core values of the Sustainable Lush fund and Lush
  • Ability to travel up to three times a year for up to one to two weeks per trip


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Experience working in agro-processing and manufacturing environment
