Hardware Verification Engineer - Power Electronics 

Hardware Verification Engineers at Lunar Energy will be responsible for ensuring the validation of the product throughout the entire lifecycle of our revolutionary home energy products. This includes providing input during the design phases, executing test plans, coordinating with internal and 3rd party test facilities.  An ideal candidate is excited and ready to collaborate closely with a dedicated, cross-functional team to deliver innovative, best-in-class products. Engineers at Lunar are hands-on and involved in all aspects of the product, and own the design from forming concepts based on first principles, to managing high-volume production quality.

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…

  • Lead system level electrical verification on the Lunar ESS (Energy Storage System)
  • Create and own verification plans for PCBAs in the system
  • Execute the verification plan with the help of a technician or by themself
  • Responsible for automation, data collection, post processing and report generation
  • Review the test results, reproduce any failures, suggest corrective actions
  • Debug and root cause a design issue and relay the findings to the design team

Desired Skills:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 2 years’ of experience in power electronics design or verification
  • Strong laboratory skills with working knowledge of the power conversion test equipment (e.g., use of oscilloscopes, power supplies,  AC/DC electronic loads, function generator, environment chambers)
  • Familiarity with various DC-DC  power converter topologies (Flyback, Forward, POL power supplies) and ability to analyze and test these
  • Familiarity with power inverter topologies (like two-level, multilevel, etc.) and ability to analyze and test these
  • Familiarity with EMC and global safety certification process
  • Ability to work independently to deliver the project goals
  • Experience in testing automation (e.g. Python or similar scripting language)

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $100,000 - $160,000 USD.

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
