As Sr. Manager, Project Controls & Business Operations, you will head several business-critical areas that are core to the effective performance of the Facilities department, including but not limited:
· Cost Control
· Planning and Scheduling
· Contract Administration
· Risk Analysis
· Support Capital Planning
· Operational management Process improvement,
· Tools and procedures
· Governance Communications
· Preconstruction activities of major capital projects
· Post Completion of project performance assessments of major projects
The purpose of the Project Control team is to optimize build that is sustainable for Lucid Motors. The team is responsible for the project engineering functions of capital projects and lifecycle projects. The portfolio consists of 50-60 active projects. This position reports directly to the Director of Project Controls. The PCM will be accountable for partnering with the multiple user groups to develop long term multi-year strategies that will feed into Lucid Motors’ capital investment plan. This will include establishing annual goals for the department and associated governance. Processes, tools, and procedures are a key enabler for project delivery. The PCM will partner with facilities, procurement, and user functions to lead continuous process improvement with the end users. This position will lead or support key department administration, operational and financial activities for an overall organization of approximately 60 staff.
You Will:
- Contribute to building and maintaining a strong Project Controls Team through collaboration, cooperation and effective communications
- Participate in project controls functions as required – Cost Control Planning and Scheduling, Estimation and Quantity Take offs from drawings, Delay and Quantum claims support and reporting
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Group Leaders, Project Managers, Vendors, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Controls services
- Provide leadership by example and a demonstrated understanding and knowledge of project management methodology, tools and practices
- Responsible for developing and maintaining project delivery processes, tools, and procedures, combined with a drive for simplicity and transparency
- Establish the long-range goals and strategy within Project Controls group
- Partner with Facilities Governance to establish a strategy to ensure compliance with required processes/procedures across the portfolio of all projects
- Create a multi-year strategy for continuous process improvement with project control processes, tools, and procedures
- Drive for measurable improvements and simplification of processes/procedures be engaging industry standard continuous improvement methodologies
- Provide leadership for the creation and maintenance of required training associated with project processes/procedures
- Build and develop a network within Lucid Motors to enhance knowledge of processes/procedures being utilized at other sites/functions
- Benchmark with industry experts on enterprise practices within other Facilities organizations to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
- Partner with Lucid’s internal Communications group to develop key communications associated with Facilities projects and programs
- Facilitate multiple meetings including: Facilities Leadership Team, Large Cap project communication meetings, risk workshops, project design review workshops, capital planning meetings, etc.
You Bring:
- 12+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, commerce, or a related field of study; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience.
- Leadership experience desired.
- Expert experience with Primavera P6, MSP, or other Integrated Scheduling software
- Ability to read and understand CAD Drawings to develop scope documents.
- Ability to develop construction and design scope based on project requirements
- Ability to solicit, level, negotiate and award bids
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodology, tools, and practices
- Extensive project management experience with design and/or construction industry experience (e.g., Project Manager, Program Manager or Project Portfolio Manager), including 5+ years of experience with the basic processes and principals of project management including Earned Value Management or like concepts.
- Demonstrated success with and widely recognized for effective cross-functional collaboration, team building, and management team partnerships
- Ability to engage and deliver through indirect staff
- Demonstrated competencies in team Leadership, team facilitation and team member participation
