Our Global Supplier Industrialization team enables the industrialization of innovative products in an extremely aggressive timeline across the globe. In this highly visible role, the Senior Supplier Industrialization Manager for Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems recruits, develops, mentors, and leads a team of commodity Supplier Industrialization Engineers, Leads and Managers who are responsible for assuring the highest quality standards for our products. This position reports into to the Director-Head of Global Supplier Industrialization in the USA HQ and is the key internal interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and our Suppliers partners to develop ways to industrialize challenging designs while at the same time not sacrificing requirements for quality.

Candidate must be industrious, agile, ability wok in different time zones and able to travel across the globe (NA/Asia/EU/KSA) to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to guide up front design development as well as roll up your sleeves with suppliers to create new manufacturing methods and control strategies when necessary to achieve ambitious specifications and ensure a flawless execution during launch.

Candidate must have strong experience managing global teams and suppliers, be able to direct supplier industrialization activities of Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems at the leadership level and have the capacity to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, fast-changing, and sometimes unpredictable environment.

You will:

  • Supplier Industrialization Engineering (SIE) Leadership: Under the leadership of Director-Head of Global Supplier Industrialization, develop and execute Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems commodity SIE team development and supplier industrialization strategies and programs that are aligned with overall Lucid Motors objectives. Ensure tactical and strategic allocation of SIEs, Leads and Managers to optimize their utilization, conduct periodic reviews to assess commodity SIE program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Ensure timely and effective communication-escalations to Leadership.
  • SIE Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems commodity high-performing supplier industrialization teams of Engineers, Leads and Managers with a strong focus on collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Provide hands-on training. coaching and mentorship to develop the skills and expertise of SIE team members. Establish and communicate SIE team OKRs-Goals-KPIs to create a culture of accountability and ensure its compliance by conducting disciplined 1:1, 365 review and annual performance reviews.
  • APQP/New Product introductions (NPI): Actively collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful NPI of Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems commodity parts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Corporate Supplier Industrialization, Corporate Quality, Design & Engineering, Craftmanship, Program Management and Supply Chain and lead a team of commodity SIEs for conducting potential supplier assessments, implementation of supplier quality plans including DFM/A, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and successful Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Lead regular reviews of SIE team readiness for NPI, instill robust processes for risk mitigation strategies. Ensure timely and effective communication-escalations to Leadership.
  • Supplier Collaboration and Performance Management for product launches: Cultivate strong partnerships with Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems commodity suppliers, ensuring their understanding of and commitment to meeting our rigorous supplier industrialization expectations including APQP/PDP/NPI/PPAP deliverables. Regularly analyze supplier performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, implement data-driven action plans to drive supplier improvement projects. Lead supplier risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure quality consistency during new product launches and into the mass production. Ensure timely and effective communication-escalations to Leadership.
  • Supplier Collaboration and Performance Management in mass production: Ensure availability of optimal SIE resources and processes are in place to drive timely resolution of Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems commodity supplier quality problems through comprehensive root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Plant SQEs, Plant Manufacturing, Plant Quality, Logistics, Warehouse and Materials Planning to minimize plant disruptions due to supplier-related quality issues. Ensure timely and effective communication-escalations to Leadership.
  • General Leadership: Lead by example to make a positive influence with internal and external stakeholders. Participate in leadership review meetings including overseeing the annual supplier quality budget and resource allocation. Have ability to travel 25-75% on average on a short term or long-term basis to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally on a short notice. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact supplier industrialization. Be visible and voice of Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems commodity supplier industrialization team by generating regular reports for senior management, highlighting SIE/Supplier performance, OKRs-Goals-KPIs, risks, and strategies for improvement.

You Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in an Automotive, Electronics or high-volume manufacturing business and at least 7+ years of experience as a global supplier industrialization leader for Automotive Body in White (BIW) Systems Previous Greenfield project experience preferably with EV start-up would be an asset.
  • 5+ years of people manager experience leading a team of Managers, Leads and SIEs with proven track record of global team development globally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven program management capabilities and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on supplier industrialization, supplier quality toolbox (ISO, IATF, DFM, GD&T) and automotive core pillars (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA) experience. Demonstrated experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments using industry standard methodologies.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, hands-on and data-driven, creative mindset in problem-solving
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, be part of the solution and be able to adapt to the dynamic working environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA and Tableau is a plus.
  • BS in Engineering, Postgraduate in Business Management a plus.
  • Certification preferred – Project Management, Lead Auditor, American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
