Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility
At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.
We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design – where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.
Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we’re providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.
The Senior CAE Optimization Engineer will be supporting many teams such as crash, NVH, durability, production, manufacturing design. They will be using their optimization and data analytics skills to solve problems in their own domain i.e. CAE and structures and also in domain where they are not expert. Problem solving and critical thinking skills are essential since complex problems need to be broken down into solvable blocks. The candidate must be highly motivated and interested in exploring new things and be able to separate opinions from fact and highly data driven.
The Role
Set up optimization - design responses, constraints, design variables, objective - and post-process the results
Interpret optimization results and developing realistic and manufacturable solutions
Sub-system level optimization for modes, stiffness, stress requirements
Collaborate and work with other teams to develop optimized solutions that work for all
Be able to work independently and give design directions during the concept design phase with initial design space.
Use optimization tools and low-fidelity CAE methods to establish optimal load paths which considers multiple attributes (i.e. Crash, NVH, durability).
Domain knowledge is equally important as optimization tools knowledge since domain knowledge will help to develop simplified simulation models to understand the systems a lot quicker.
Develop new techniques and process
Provide automation support for the team to improve team performance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Thorough understanding of finite element analysis. Must have hands-on experience with solvers such as LSDYNA, OPTISTRUCT/NASTRAN. Pre- and post-processing tools like OASYS, ANSA, META, Hyperworks
Experience with CAE optimization methods
Good knowledge of crash, NVH and durability
Experience in Altair HyperStudy. LS-OPT, modeFRONTIER, Genesis or other optimization packages.
Able to use morphing tools as part of the optimization flow
Good scripting skills in tcl and python and knowledge of Ansa/Meta &
Hyperworks API would be a benefit
