What we need:
This will be an operationally focused SRE type role covering incident resolution and prevention. We need someone passionate about monitoring, metrics, trends, and uptime to join our experienced team. We are looking for someone early in their career (3-5 years) with a solid base of experience, looking to take things to the next level.
What you'll do:
- Be the first responder to incidents, outages, and failures
- Be the first responder to developer questions and support requests
- Ensure issues and resolutions are tracked and fully documented
- Improve monitoring, metrics, and logging systems as needed
- Work with the rest of the infrastructure team to enact changes to improve site reliability
- Use your knowledge of scripting to automate repeatable tasks and reduce toil wherever possible
- Make use of API driven methods to build repeatable infrastructure
- Engage with developer teams to provide support and guidance for their projects
- Ensure operations are compliant with our internal controls
What we're looking for (you!):
- Knowledge of AWS infrastructure and tooling
- Hands on experience troubleshooting applications on Linux
- Hands on experience troubleshooting networking and connectivity problems
- Basic understanding of Docker and containers
- Experience following and building runbooks, playbooks, knowledge bases
- Exposure to CI pipelines and other automation tools
- Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, Ruby
